Dr. Polavarapu holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, a rare combination that reflects the highest level of training and expertise in his field. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), an honor awarded to surgeons who meet the College’s high standards for education, professional conduct, and surgical competence.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, yet it is highly preventable with regular screening. Dr. Polavarapu performs colonoscopies for routine cancer screening, diagnostic evaluation, and polyp removal. The American Cancer Society recommends colorectal cancer screening beginning at age 45.
