Dr. Arun Venkat is a board-certified cardiologist and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) at Pike County Memorial Hospital, seeing patients in Louisiana, Missouri every 1st and 3rd Thursday at the PCMH Cardiology Department. As a cardiologist serving Louisiana, Missouri and all of Pike County, Dr. Venkat provides expert diagnosis and treatment for a full range of heart and vascular conditions.
Dr. Venkat earned his medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belgaum, India in 1991. He completed his fellowship in cardiology at Cooper University Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey, one of the nation’s prominent academic medical centers. He then pursued additional fellowship training in interventional cardiology at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, adding catheter-based cardiac procedures to his already comprehensive cardiovascular skill set.
Dr. Venkat holds board certifications in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine which reflects training that spans the full spectrum from preventive cardiology and medical management to advanced procedural intervention. His international medical education combined with fellowship training at multiple respected American institutions gives Dr. Venkat a depth of perspective and clinical experience that directly benefits his Pike County patients.
Dr. Venkat is committed to making expert cardiovascular care accessible to patients in Louisiana, Missouri and the surrounding communities who deserve specialist-level cardiology without having to drive hours to a major medical center. He works closely with PCMH’s cardiac device specialist and pulmonologist to provide coordinated, comprehensive cardiopulmonary care.
